For the first time, Israel participated in the 15th annual International Exhibition of Agriculture (SIAM) in Meknes, Morocco with a kiosk showcasing Israeli agricultural products. The event was attended by representatives from ten Israeli companies who were looking for opportunities to collaborate with Moroccan partners.

The Israeli Minister of Economy and Industry, Nir Barkat, who was also present at the event, revealed that Israel plans to open an economic affairs office in Morocco in the near future. This is expected to further strengthen the economic ties and promote peace in the region.

During a meeting with his Moroccan counterpart Riyad Mezzour, Barkat emphasized the strategic partnership between the two countries in the agricultural field. He also underscored the Kingdom’s importance as an agricultural market and a crossroad between Africa and Europe, which could enable successful collaboration between Morocco and Israel.

Joseph Levy, the President of the Morocco-Israel Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCIMI), highlighted the crucial role of the agrarian sector in the Moroccan economy and expressed his country’s willingness to collaborate with Israel. Levy also emphasized Morocco’s strategic position as a gateway between Africa and Europe, which makes it an attractive partner for Israel.

The Israeli kiosk at the SIAM Exhibition featured a range of innovative agricultural products and technologies, including advanced irrigation systems, plant protection products, and greenhouse equipment.

The participation of Israel in the SIAM Exhibition and the planned opening of an economic affairs office in Morocco are significant steps towards strengthening economic ties between the two countries and building bridges of peace through the economy.
