Shura Council receives US Congress delegation

Manama, Oct. 4 (BNA): The Shura Council Secretariat General received a delegation from the US Congress as part of their visit to the Kingdom of Bahrain.

The delegation was briefed about the legislative experience in Bahrain under the development and democratic march led by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.

The Shura Council Acting Secretary General, Karima Mohammed Al Abbasi, praised the visit and its role in exchanging expertise in the legislative field. She conveyed the greetings of Shura Council Chairman Ali bin Saleh Al Saleh and his welcome of the visit which aims to enhance joint relations and cooperation between the legislative councils of the two friendly countries.

The US delegation was briefed through an induction presentation about the parliamentary experience and democratic march in the Kingdom of Bahrain and the main achievements in the legislative and legal field. They were also informed about the kingdom’s keenness to promote the culture of dialogue, tolerance, religious coexistence and support the rights of women and the youth.

The induction presentation was given by Chairman of the Legal Advisors Panel, Dr. Nawfel Gherbal.

The US Congress delegation praised the joint meeting, stressing the importance of exchanging visits to learn about the legislative process in the Kingdom of Bahrain and the prerogatives given to the two councils.
